On Thursday, 6th November 2025, Roza Dymz buzzed with purpose and energy as the Rotaract Club of Upper Kololo welcomed the District Rotaract Representative (DRR) for an official visit. The day began quietly, with a focused pre-fellowship meeting between the DRR and the Club Board. In that session, the Board shared a comprehensive update on the club’s performance, detailing strategy, impact, and financial stewardship, while receiving guidance that would shape the remainder of the Rotary year.

The fellowship itself was both celebratory and reflective. The Board presented the July–November 2025 Status Report, reaffirming Upper Kololo’s identity as a values-driven, impact-oriented community. The DRR highlighted the club’s commitment to service, leadership, and growth, noting how accountability and financial discipline have allowed the club to align resources directly with outcomes.

The evening’s presentations were punctuated by stories of tangible impact. The Katwe Health Initiative, held on 19th July, showcased the club’s hands-on approach to public health. Through this outreach, 102 children were immunized, protecting them from preventable diseases, and 50 units of blood were collected in collaboration with medical teams; a contribution with immediate lifesaving potential. In September, the club visited the Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida Home in Katabi. Beyond donations, caregivers were trained in beadwork and making reusable pads, equipping them with skills that support both dignity and sustainable livelihoods. The DRR applauded these projects for blending immediate relief with long-term resilience.
Looking ahead, the club’s calendar is brimming with promise. The Little Hearts Project, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Upper Kololo, will support children with congenital heart conditions on 29th November, while the St. Joseph Gulu Project, scheduled for December, aims to empower youth with guidance, mentorship, and emotional support.

Membership growth was another highlight of the evening. From 47 members in July, Upper Kololo now boasts 51 active members and 7 honorary members, creating a thriving community of 58 committed Rotaractors. The DRR noted the club’s unique ability to blend structure, creativity, and camaraderie; a recipe for retention and sustained impact.

The fellowship also doubled as a celebration of generosity. During the District-wide TRF Campaign Challenge, Upper Kololo hosted all Thursday clubs, raising funds for The Rotary Foundation. Eight members were recognized as UK Champs for contributing UGX 200,000 or more, embodying the club’s ethos of leadership, service, and giving from the heart.

Finally, the evening marked an important milestone in membership. Three honorary members were inducted, recognized for their professional excellence and mentorship potential, alongside four active members eager to contribute, lead, and grow. Their induction reinforces the club’s identity as a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-looking community.

The fellowship left attendees inspired. Lessons from the day were clear: meaningful impact arises from careful planning, collaboration, and a commitment to nurturing both community and members. Generosity, whether through time, talent, or treasure, amplifies influence and strengthens culture.
