There’s a particular kind of magic that appears when people realize they are in a room where honesty is not only allowed, but welcomed. On the evening of 20th November, the Full House Buddy Group transformed the space into something gentler, something almost intimate. By 6pm, members and guests settled into their seats with the expectant hush of people preparing not just to hear, but to be heard.
Our moderators, Namutebi Sarah and Andrew Ndazano, held the space with both humor and intention. The prompt “If I could speak freely without fear…” opened the door to conversations we rarely give ourselves permission to have. Some answers were light, others weighted, and a few wrapped in the kind of humor that only appears when truth brushes against discomfort.
What made the night memorable wasn’t the depth of the confessions, but the gentleness of the listening. No one hurried the speakers. No one tried to correct or debate. Each voice was given room to land, and for a moment, the whole fellowship felt like a collective exhale.
By the end of the evening, it was clear that honesty doesn’t always demand grand revelations. Sometimes it’s simply the courage to put words to a feeling you’ve been carrying alone and trusting that the room will hold it.
The fellowship closed with a quiet sense of connection. Everyone left knowing just a little more about each other, but more importantly, understanding a little more about the value of a community that allows you to be human without performance.
