The 31st of October felt like sunlight. Warm, easy, and just a little mischievous. By 1pm, Roza Dymz was alive with laughter and chatter, as members gathered for the RAC Takeover Fellowship, fittingly titled Beats, BBQ & Banter.
The afternoon began with an icebreaker, designed to loosen everyone up and spark laughter over laughable mistakes and playful missteps. What started as cautious smiles quickly turned into full-blown chuckles and camaraderie.
Members were then split into two teams for a debate that was equal parts clever and comical. Arguments flew with confidence, rebuttals landed with theatrical flair, and the audience couldn’t help but cheer along at every witty point. The energy only intensified as the teams moved into the talent show, revealing dances that drew roars of excitement, and performances that left everyone smiling. The two Club Presidents Tumusiime Godfrey from Upper Kololo and Past President Joyce from the Rotary Club of Upper Kololo presided as judges of the competition, adding an extra layer of friendly rivalry and celebration.
By the end of the fellowship, it was clear that shared joy and playful competition can bond a community in ways formal sessions rarely do. Beats, BBQ & Banter reminded everyone that laughter, creativity, and a little healthy rivalry are as essential to fellowship as service and leadership.
